Did you know you can get more "bang for your buck" with every cup of coffee by watching when you drink it? That's right....coffee is more effective at some times than others.
Following your body's circadian rhythms, you naturally produce cortisol, which has the same effect on your physiological systems as caffeine. If you drink a cup of coffee at a time when your body is already at its peak, you won't notice much of a bump from the caffeine.
And worse! You'll build up a tolerance for caffeine and need to drink more.
As a coffee company, we're kind of all in favor of you drinking more coffee, but read on if you want to know how to get the most out of your java.
Cortisol levels are highest:
- 6 AM - 9 AM
- 12 PM - 1 PM
- 6 PM
So do the simple math....
Drink your coffee between 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM, and 1:30 PM and 5:00 PM. If you are hoping to pull an all-nighter, you could look at that after 6 PM timeframe, but I wouldn't advise it!!!
Drink up, my friends....we have a long week ahead!
